Netherby Rocks is a brand new 5 star luxury accommodation option situated on the rugged coast of King Island. This stunning 5 bedroom beach house immerses you in breathtaking panoramic views the moment you enter. Netherby hired me to establish a brand, develop a logo, create marketing material and craft a beautifully minimal website to promote the house and accept bookings online.
THE CHALLENGE
Netherby Rocks accommodates the affluent travellers. Those that don’t mind spending that little bit extra for the best in comfort and style. It was important to depict luxury and style whilst still remaining true to the raw & rugged nature of King Island.
Being fresh accommodation on the Island, we quickly wanted to establish a presence and attract visitors to book and stay. Simplicity in design was key, and to allow the stunning architecturally built house to do most of the speaking.

THE SOLUTION

Inspiration for the Netherby Rocks identity sprung forth directly from the architecturally designed house. The signature ‘V’ shaped roof in the centre of the building was the perfect symbol and focal point to base the logo around. By adding an elegantly light font the design remained minimal, whilst the uppercase characters confidently depicted an element of ‘class’ and ‘luxury’.
Netherby wished to spark interest and have guests booking-in prior to the completion of the build. This required a very detailed ‘coming-soon-styled’ website. The site still required all the necessities and aesthetics that the final product would have, but with ‘progress shots’ in place of where the finished photos would go.

Netherby Rocks was a fun and seamless project with very few obstacles. The house is a beautiful piece of architecture, and the Island has a rugged charm that’s welcoming to all those that visit. Utilising the unique structure of the house an identity was formed that will assist in creating bookings for years to come.
The website’s simplicity allows for the house to sell itself. And sell itself it does.
